The unfolding of a treatment

First visit?

The treatment will always be adapted to your own unique
reality of the moment so they will always be different. Your needs
and priorities will be taken into consideration. Don’t be shy to
speak out of your apprehensions or to ask questions. Traditional
Chinese Medicine can seem quite mysterious and I do my best to
translate it in ways understandable by Westerners.

Preparing for the appointment

Please come in 10 minutes early to fill in Covid and Intake
forms.

Write down the reason you are consulting in the comment box if
you book Online.

Make sure to have eaten a little something before.

Prepare a list of your prescription: I will need it to avoid possible
undesirable side effects.

Come in comfortable clothes and underwear.

During the appointment
  • I often take the pulse and check the tongue to identify your
    energetical patterns.
  • I use only single use needles and they are disposed of as biohazard waste. Needles are never reused.
  • Needles are not syringes! They are 10 times smaller than what
nurses use. You will barely feel them if you do feel them at all.
  • I often also use other tools like cups. They may leave red marks
than usually disappear within 3-5 days. So let me know if you
    have a photoshoot!
  • Do use the bathroom beforehand to feel more relaxed.
  • Newcomers to acupuncture are often surprised at how relaxed
they feel when they get off the table.
After the treatment
  • After the treatment, you will probably feel very relaxed and
possibly a bit drowsy. You will still be able to attend to your daily
activities but you will be more zen.
  • In rare occurences, people suffering from
inflammatory/chronic pain conditions may feel a flare-up just
after the treatment followed by relief.

  • It is often best not to plan intense physical activity or a
stressful day at work after a treatment.

  • It is recommended to have your acupuncture sessions not
too spread apart in time to benefit from the cumulative effect
of the healing of each session. The relief will grow for an
increasing amount of time. In parallel, most people notice that other aspects of their health improves. It is common to feel a better mood, digestion, sleep and more calm.

  • Do not hesitate to contact your therapist if you have any
questions on the following days of your treatment.

If you need to cancel

You can reschedule or cancel up to
24 hours in advance without problem.

If you have to cancel within 24 hours of the treatment, there
is a cancellation fee of 50% of the price of the treatment,
except in case of force majeure (extreme weather,
cold/flu/gastro, hospitalization, loss of a relative).
